呂郁玲律師
呂郁玲律師主要執業領域為智慧財產權的申請與訴訟。呂律師的商標法經驗包括向客戶提供商標可用性意見、商標申請的準備以及在美國專利及商標局進行申請審查。她也曾在紐約州法院和聯邦法院處理商標侵權訴訟案件。
呂郁玲律師畢業於台灣國立政治大學法律系, 並獲得位於美國密蘇里州的聖路易華聖頓大學法學院的法律碩士（LL.M.）及法律博士（J.D.）學位。呂律師擁有台灣與美國紐約州律師執照, 並且現為台灣桃園律師公會及紐約市律師公會會員。呂律師也是聯邦法院紐約東區及南區法院的出庭律師和美國專利及商標局註冊律師。
Yuh-Ling Lu, Esq.
Ms. Lu's practice focuses on intellectual property prosecution and litigation. Her trademark experience includes opinions on trademark availability, preparation of trademark applications and prosecution of those applications before the Patent and Trademark Office. She has also litigated trademark infringement cases before the New York State courts and federal courts.
Ms. Lu graduated from National Chengchi University School of Law in Taiwan and received her LL.M. and J.D. degrees from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. She is admitted to practice law in Taiwan, before the New York State courts, the Federal Eastern and Southern Districts of New York courts, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

問題: 我是否需要聘請持有美國執照的律師在美國專利商標局代表我？
答案: 這取決於您的居住地:
(1) 需要，如果您是外國居住的商標申請人、註冊人，或是商標上訴程序中的當事人，您必須由持有美國律師執照的律師在美國專利商標局代表您;
(2) 不需要，如果您是居住在美國或其領土的商標申請人、註冊人或當事人。然而，我們強烈建議聘請專門從事商標法的美國執照律師來指導您完成註冊過程。
Question: Am I required to hire a U.S.-licensed attorney to represent me at the USPTO?
Answer: It depends on the location of your domicile:
(1) Yes, if you are a foreign-domiciled trademark applicant, registrant, or party to Trademark Trial and Appeal Board proceedings. You must be represented at the USPTO by an attorney who is licensed to practice law in the United States;
(2) No, if you are a trademark applicant, registrant, or party domiciled in the United States or its territories. Nevertheless, we strongly encourage you to hire a U.S.-licensed attorney who specializes in trademark law to guide you through the registration process.
